Custom fitted ear impression is very important part of the future hearing system and is of great significance for the quality of the sound.
What is the purpose of the custom fitted ear impression?
The imression carries the sound from the external part of the hearing system into the ear of the user. It is important to have a precise impression of the ear because that's what keeps the device steadily attached and does not allow it to fall off.
A well-made ear impression is very effective against the so called "microphonic effect" beacause it closes tightly the ear canal and prevents the sound from turning back. The opening (vent) in the impression relieves the uncomfortable feeling of "plugged ear" and the so called twang.
It is very important the tubule that connects the impression with the rest of the system to be measured exactly, to be clean and supple. If it is too short then the client would feel unpleasant pulling and if it is too long - then the entire apparatus would be in danger of falling off. If the tubule is poorly cut there is high risk that in future it might shrink and block the passage of sound. Keeping the impression clean and using it correctly is of major importance. If it is incorrectly inserted it may damage the ear canal or cause "microphonic effect" and as a result the client might stop using his hearing system.
Types of custom fitted ear impressions

could be: soft- silicone, soft- photopolymer, hard- photopolymer
Classical design, very solid and easy to modify. It is recommended for extensive hearing loss. It is a precise replica of your ear and is produced of material of your choice. On each impression a special tubule is inserted and for the hard ones there is a special "horn" that is the connection between the impression and the tubule.
mini impression for hearing system with irregular tubule /soft and hard/
Enfolds half of the pinna for better comfort. It is recommended when the degree of hearing loss is not high. This is the smallest custom fitted ear impression. It is practically invisible in the ear.
Very convenient to wear. Perfect for people with higher degree of flexibility of the outer ear. When manufactured with long tubule it could also be used in cases of more extensive hearing loss.
